NORDEAST!

Tomorrow, I promise something witty and long-winded. But it's been a long weekend and an extraordinarily long day so... today I read an article in the NYT about the resurgence of commerce and culture in Northeast Minneapolis.

I know what you're thinking- didn't I just write last week about how it's fast becoming my new favorite neighborhood? Yes, I did. I'm filled with pride that I at least beat them to the punch by a week- I tend to be about 2 years behind on trends, especially music and hip hangouts.

I love that the article mentioned Anchor Fish and Chips because that was the first place I ever went to in NE. I also want to plug a restaurant/bar called Erte that has 1/2 price wine on Mondays and Tuesdays, and a really fantastic butternut squash bruschetta appetizer. I was too focused on the apps and vino to get dinner but apparently they also have fabulous steaks.

Last, I've got a coffeeshop in Northeast called Tarraccino Coffee that I like to frequent when I'm in the neighborhood. They have a specialty drink called the Nordeast Mocha that has swiss almond syrup, and it's like magic in a cup. They also have some of the sassiest baristas I've seen since I lived in Madison.

This mindless post just took up all of today's remaining brainpower. Tomorrow is really going to be a struggle, friends.

Northeast is really cool, but Southeast is cool, too!!

In Northeast, I like that little strip of art galleries. I bought Dan a print there, and I felt very cool.

Hate to break it to ya sis, but tarraccino is def a chain shop. We had one in prob the least trendy place in the country...Ames, IA. That said, they do have great baristas.

Next place to check off the list? Emily's Lebanese deli.

Sad day! But I still think their swiss almond syrup is the bee's knees.

Madison does have some sassy barristas.

You probably didn't think it was possible, but the hipster quotient has been multiplied about 10x.
