"Good lasagna," I said to my mom last night after dinner. "I really liked it."

"Oh did you now?" Connor replied snidely. "If you liked it then you shoulda put a RING on it."

Which is when I realized that Beyonce's new song is only a slightly more clever retort than the age old "If you like it so much then why don't you marry it". Like anyone who appreciates music and worries about the crap on Top 40, I am now certain that Katy Perry is two seconds away from releasing "Yo mama's so fat" in time for Christmas.

That being said, I freaking love Beyonce. Girl can rock lycra leotards like no one's business, and she isn't afraid to shimmy inappropriately onstage. B could cover Raffi for the rest of her life and I'd still defend her. Katy Perry on the other hand, could play Mozart with her left foot while balancing a tray of jello on her head and I'd still smack her up for recording "I kissed a girl".

Well, that felt good.
